The Retrotech Process
At Retrotech, we follow a structured process which consistently achieves desired customer outcomes. Our planning process is designed to fulfill your business and operational requirements and prevent post-installation issues. Our key differentiator is that we hold ourselves accountable and responsible to deliver systems performance based on our recommendations.
Our equipment agnostic approach offers unbiased equipment recommendations. We make no preordained conclusions about what equipment will be used in any solution until systems requirements and systems architecture are clearly defined and agreed upon.
We provide complimentary rough order of magnitude (ROM) cost proposals to help clients assess the initial technical and financial feasibility of an ASRS in their operations.
Process Deliverables
We follow an iterative consultative process to develop systems requirements producing a detailed design concept that can be scrutinized, firmly priced and validated, without major capital investment. Key Process Deliverables include:
- Functional Requirements Document (FRD): a plain English description of business requirements. It defines the sequence of operations and the equipment including software/hardware into a clear document that describes the new automated system.
- Systems Design Specification (SDS) translates FRD output into an ASRS and /or material handling model that is detailed and clearly quantifiable.
- Systems Performance Analysis (SPA) is a document reflecting output of the model and system emulation as developed in the SDS that clearly identifies system performance and validates or points out any need to modify the design. This document forces any changes in the proposed model upfront without having to first build the design.
